Role Purpose
  • To create and manage the APAC marketing strategies and plans for CWIEME Shanghai, ensuring that these drive customer acquisition, retention and revenues, deliver the appropriate audience for the events, and create long-term value
  • To work alongside the sales team to agree sales goals, and create joined-up sales and marketing plans that fulfil strategic marketing goals, and stimulate product interest, engagement, purchase/attendance and ongoing loyalty and advocacy
  • To ensure that business development plans for each brand are aligned to market opportunities and drivers, and deliver the best possible growth

Key responsibilities
  • Create and manage the strategic marketing plan for the APAC region, covering all revenue streams and all relevant customer audiences, in order to achieve event objectives, plan and execute exhibitor acquisition & retention plans, key customer plans, etc.
  • Identify and deliver innovative ways to bring high levels of visitor and exhibitor engagement and advocacy for CWIEME Shanghai
  • Ensure that the promotional plan includes effective activities along each stage of the customer funnel, including new prospect acquisition, awareness driving, engagement, lead generation and conversion, and loyalty/advocacy (for visitors, exhibitors, sponsors and delegates)
  • Manage the marketing budget CWIEME Shanghai, ensuring this delivers the required commercial results and ROI. This includes agreeing (with HoM, DD, sales heads and finance) the brand budget; allocating budget to specific event activity and regularly monitoring spend vs. results
  • Create and execute a partnership plan (including associations, professional bodies & media partners); acquire and manage the relationship with partners, agree sales goals (customer numbers and revenues by customer type) with sales head; work with sales head to create exhibitor acquisition & retention plans, including key customer plans
  • Provide aggregated reporting of event KPI performance vs. target, ensuring full ownership of monthly marketing KPIs, and weekly reporting
  • Present to sales and other key internal and external audiences as required, acting as the advocate for CWIEME Shanghai
Experience required
  • Minimum of 4 years and above experience in event marketing, practiced in managing and implementing all aspects of promotional and marketing mix, covering proposition, pricing, distribution/sales strategies, and promotional strategies
  • With solid experience in developing strategic frameworks and processes, and creating highly effective strategic and tactical marketing plans, all aspects of digital marketing, including eCRM, email & mobile, social media, website management, Ux, search and online advertising
  • With experience managing Marketing communications and events in Asia and China, worked with overseas team/ international companies
  • Experience of working within the events industry or Ascential Events key market sectors desirable
  • Experience of developing customer insight and improving customer experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Marketing, PR and relevant disciplines
  • International experience desirable
