About the role


Key Purpose


  • Write clear, concise and effective marketing copy for Cannes Lions and its regional events.
  • Proofread, fact-check and edit all brand copy and external communications
  • Work with teams across the company (eg marketing, commercial, talent & training etc) to communicate the right messages at the right time
  • Understand the Cannes Lions community and the diverse industries they work in
  • Bring the event to life throughout the year.
Key Accountabilities
  • Produce creative, compelling copy across print and digital for marketing materials such as sales brochures, landing pages, social PPC, event programmes, leaflets, event listings, video scripts and more
  • Work with the marketing and design teams to produce frequent, effective email marketing campaigns
  • Amend, revise or redevelop copy in response to feedback from relevant stakeholders
  • Proofread and edit company communications for teams across Cannes Lions and its sister festivals e.g. event signage and customer-facing emails
  • Assist the social media manager with copy for social channels such as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Cannes Lions and its sister festivals’ products and markets to ensure quality, accuracy and relevancy of copy
  • Learn, maintain and develop the voice and tone for each event.



Qualification/Experience
Essential
  • Degree in communications/marketing/English/related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of marketing techniques and how to craft effective sales copy
  • Copywriting experience, ideally for a brand
  • Project management skills: assisting in the planning, executing and implementing of campaigns (particularly email marketing).
Desirable
  • Working knowledge of Adobe programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of content management systems (eg Sitecore)
  • UX writing experience
  • ·Experience working within the branded communications industry: knowledge of client/agency models and an understanding of the industry structure would be beneficial.

  • Thorough knowledge of marketing techniques
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects at a time
