The ideal candidate will be on the pulse of the latest hotspots and buzz from around the region but will also have the ability to deliver commercially-focussed fashion trend insights for our subscribers. Proactive, organised, accurate and a great communicator, the role holder will be responsible for City by City content from the region and will also contribute to retail trend round-ups. ensuring everything is accurate, well written and meets our in-house tone of voice. You will be reporting on new city hotspots and retail, working with freelancers and updating the city listings across Hong Kong, China, Korea, Australia and the wider APAC region. There will be regular travel involved including trips to London to attend events with the global team. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Writing new retail, restaurant and bar listings
  • Answering client queries on shopping destinations for particular categories (e.g men’s footwear)
  • Ensuring City by City’s store listings database is kept up to date (this is done often weekly/ daily)
  • Providing overall support to the City by City and retail directories
  • CMS report layout and listings database management
  • Liaising with PRs to ensure coverage of new openings
  • Researching and writing regional retail guides
  • Understanding and reporting on regional retail trends across womenswear, menswear, footwear and accessories
  • Staying abreast of trends and developments from regional brands and retailers
  • Attending press previews and events and reporting on them
  • Has oversight to the management of freelance writers for briefings to acquisition of copy within agreed timelines and budget ensuring the consistent output of their content
  • Produces a required number of content reports as directed while adhering to the editorial guidelines and calendar
Qualifications and Experience:
  • With bachelor degree in Fashion Design, Communication, Media, Journalism/Translation and other relevant disciplines
  • 2 – 3 years’ hands-on experience of writing, editing and reporting gained from education and/or working within creative industries
  • With a good understanding of global market and commercial trends across fashion, design and lifestyle product areas with the ability to pin-point trends that will impact the markets
  • Experience working in, or reporting on the travel, retail and arts arenas, with an enthusiasm and knowledge for culture, travel and fashion
  • Strong communication and written skills in English and Chinese
  • Excellent project coordination and management skills
